I love meditation and I use it daily. Since I learned my first meditation technique in 1998, my meditation practices have shaped my life to be better, happier and more fulfilling.
Meditation is very empowering! It helps us to overcome fears and limitations and become masters of our own lives. Below is a condensed version of the basic meditation I share with my clients. If used daily, its effects are very powerful and they build over time as you continue the practice. Try it upon waking, before bed, or any time you feel out of balance.

Sit comfortably in a chair. Feel your feet on the floor.
Now, think about your feet as you take a deep breath in through your nose.
Blow out the breath through your mouth with force, like you're blowing out birthday candles. Take another breath like this, relaxing your head and shoulders as you exhale.
Now imagine that you are sitting in a warm pool of red light that is surrounding your lower body. Take two deep breaths while you imagine that the red light is becoming brighter as you breathe.
Now, focus on your heart and imagine yourself floating easily and happily in a warm lake of emerald green light. See yourself there just as you are now, smiling, enjoying your green lake of light. Take two deep breaths as you feel this green lake like water all around you and relax into it.
Now imagine a spotlight of golden white light shining down on you from overhead.
Droplets of this light begin to rain down over you like a shower, onto your hair, your face, shoulders, skin, and clothes. As you continue to breathe, receive this golden white light like a refreshing shower as the drops cover you completely, pooling around your feet.
Feel peace as you let your body relax in this shower of light.
